Connectors

Connectors let Orb use the things in your life — your calendar, reminders, and more — so it can actually help instead of just chatting.

Connector availability is expanding quickly. This page describes the model; check the app’s Connectors screen for what’s live in your version.

How connectors work

• You turn a connector on and grant permission. Orb only uses what you’ve allowed.
• Your data stays on your device; it’s shared with your chosen brain only to answer the thing you asked, in that moment.
• Connectors work whether you ask by voice or by text.

On-device (your phone)

These use Apple’s own permission prompts and keep the data on your phone:

• Calendar — “what’s on my calendar tomorrow?”, “am I free Friday afternoon?”
• Reminders — “what’s on my list?”, and (as write support rolls out) “remind me to…”
• Contacts — used to resolve who you mean when you ask about a person.

Account connectors

Things like Gmail and Google Calendar connect through the provider’s own secure sign-in (you log in to Google, Orb never sees your password). These roll out over time.

Reading vs. doing

• Reading (seeing your calendar, your reminders) is the common case and is safe by design.
• Doing things that change your data (creating an event or reminder) is always confirm first — Orb shows you exactly what it’ll do and waits for your okay. It won’t silently change things.

Privacy

• You control every connector individually and can turn any of them off.
• Nothing is read until you ask something that needs it.
• A connector being “on” means available to Orb when relevant — not constantly watched.
